Cookie Policy

This page lists the cookies and similar technologies that sonan.ca uses, what each one is for, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our privacy policy, which explains the wider picture.

The list below was compiled by observing what this site actually loads, rather than copied from a template. If you would like more detail about anything here, write to [email protected].

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store. It lets the site recognise your browser on a later visit or during the same session. Related technologies do similar work, for example a small invisible image or script that reports a page view back to a server.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to work. They cannot be switched off through our site because the site does not function without them.

Consent record Complianz (our consent tool) Remembers the cookie choices you make here so you are not asked again on every visit. Up to 12 months

Statistics

These tell us which pages people read and where they arrive from. We use that to decide what is worth writing and where the site is confusing. They are not used to identify you personally.

Tools loaded on this site

These are the services that run on sonan.ca and may set cookies or read your device. Each has its own privacy policy, linked below.

  • Google, for Analytics, Tag Manager, and Ads measurement.
  • LinkedIn, for the Insight Tag and ads measurement.
  • Leadfeeder (Dealfront), for company-level visit identification.
  • HubSpot, for our contact records.
  • Cloudflare, for delivery, security, and performance reporting.
  • Complianz, for recording your cookie choices.

How to control cookies

You have three routes, and all of them work:

  • Our consent tool. Use the cookie settings link to review and change what you allow. It reappears when your consent expires or when you clear your browser.
  • Your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and lets you set different rules per site. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will break parts of this site, including the contact form.
  • Advertising opt-outs. You can limit personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and LinkedIn ad settings.

If you block marketing and statistics cookies, the site still works. You will simply be counted less, and we will know less about what is useful.

Consent

Non-essential cookies are set based on the choices you make in our consent tool, and you can change or withdraw those choices at any time. Where the law requires us to ask before setting a cookie, we ask. Where it allows an opt-out model instead, we still give you the same controls to switch things off.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, consent is the basis on which we set anything beyond the strictly necessary cookies, and you may withdraw it at any time.

Changes

We update this page when the tools on the site change. If a new service is added that sets cookies, it will be listed here before or at the time it goes live.
